Tomorrow I start driving up to Wisconsin. This will be, I believe, the fifth road trip I do with my parents (previously two to Maryland, one to New York, and one from New York City to Niagara's Falls). For the most part these are pretty enjoyable, except when my dad runs over little deers on the road; we get to have a good family time and talk about things you only get to share in a road trip.
However, this trip will be unlike any of the previous: Mine is one way, my parents' is round trip. For the first time we will end our trip in different destinations. This trip will also be substantially longer than any of the previous -- we plan to drive up to Maryland to visit my wonderful sister (she actually reads these post so I need to use good adjectives). From there we will be driving west, another first. All in all, almost 2000 miles of driving.
When we get to Wisconsin, I want to show my parents where I will be living and where I will be working. I also want to show them the city and surroundings so they can get a sense of the area. Then I will drive them to the airport, kiss my parents good by, and begin a new phase in my life.
Well, I'm going to end it right here because there is some packing I must get started. I will write my next post whenever I get internet access installed.
Have a safe trip to Wisconsin. I hope your time there's the start of a wonderful chapter of your life.

ReplyDeleteNot much to see in the Midwest... except the deer that walk on to the roads. Enjoy settling into your new home in Milwaukee!
